 Marisa's 1992 My Cousin Vinny role in 1992 as Joe Pesci's street smart, foul-mouthed girlfriend certainly gained her a fair amount of notoriety, although perhaps not in the sense that she may have anticipated. The fame that ensued revolved more around claims that she was undeserving of such acclaim rather than the talented performance that actually won her the trophy. The problem with Marisa is that she seems to be very conscious of this, and likes to play up this character in public appearances, thereby severely compromising her innate appeal.  Women who play the cutesy-girl routine render themselves about as attractive as a bag of doorknobs, if only by giving us the distinct sense that they're not as innocent as they let on. Marisa, with her sassiness and ever-present smile, seems to fit this profile to a tee.
